Tips for designing successful custom letterheads

The classic among letterheads is the letterhead printed on one side. If you want your custom letterhead to stand out and stand out from the competition, a partially coated letterhead is a good option. Finishing with UV varnish enhances it even further – just like something with special colors. Gold and silver, or a colour from the Pantone range, give your letterhead a certain exclusivity. No matter which type of printing you choose, our types of paper are basically suitable for laser and inkjet printers. This also applies to our unprinted copy paper.

By the way, when ordering, it is best to also think about the right envelopes. You also have the option of providing the envelope with an address label and thereby saving a lot of time when labeling.

Have your personalized letterhead printed and ordered online.

What is a standard economic letterhead paper format ?

Standard stationery is usually 8″½ x 11″. 8″½ x 14″, you can also create your own letterhead formats.

What kind of paper is used generally for letterheads?

The paper used to create letterheads is from 70 lbs and 20, lbs but it always remains the customer’s choice! 30% Recyclable Stationary Paper 100%

How much do letterheads cost?

Depending on the quantity you order, the rates decrease. CONSULT THE PRICES below for letterhead printing.

Which files are good to get quality letterhead printing?

To obtain quality files, you need the right software to use the following software: Adobe In Quark, Xpress Design, Photoshop, or Illustrator. Printing Advantage accepts PDF, JPG, TIFF, and EPS files with a clear preference for PDF files.

What is the minimum resolution for quality headers?

It is necessary that your files have sufficient definition so that the print quality is at the Rendez-Vous. For printing your letterhead papers, it is desirable to provide us with files with a resolution of 300 DPI.

“Note: DPIs represents the number of dots that will be placed on the length of an inch. The higher the DPI, the greater the number of dots per inch, and the finer and more accurate the printed image.

What is the lost margin and is it really necessary?

Many letterheads have colored backgrounds, nets, or images that reach the edge of the paper. To limit the risk of cutting and not to appear white borders, it is necessary to provide us with files including 0.¼ inches of edging lost all around. Example:

For letterheads in 8.5 x11 format, you must provide us with file size 8.00 x 10.5.

Obviously, if your letterheads are on a white background, the lost border is not mandatory.

“To note: the margins lost or lost by definition are intended to be” lost “during the cut. It is an extension of your file (image or background color) that will be cut during shaping, Which ensures that the edges of your letterhead will not contain blanks when you cut them when cutting. “Of course, no text or information should appear in a lost margin.”

Again, in order to limit the risks to the cut and to obtain “balanced and elegant” letterheads, it is desirable to respect a margin of 0, ¼ minimum between the edge of your letterheads and texts (or other information). Thus, headers of letters will appear more ventilated and will not appear shifted if a deviation of cut occurred.

Which fonts should be used?

There are not really any rules about typography to use on your letterheads … they must represent the image of your activity. AVANTAGE PRINTING advises you to use very readable fonts for your contact details (Telephone, address, enamel, legal notices, …). And make sure that these are not too aggressive or too thin or small fonts. Finally, in all cases, if possible, use vectorized fonts, try a preliminary print in real size and in case of doubt, order a BAT (Good to Shoot) during your ordering process. “Note: If the text on your letterhead has a Gaufrage or Gilding finish, avoid applying these effects to inline characters.

What file should be provided for specific finishes?

We want to make your task easier, you just have to send us an additional file with “Black 100%” the desired enhancement. The same size and resolution, the parts “Black 100%” present on this file will determine your choices (The zones in relief, the gilding, …) “To note: on these” special “finishes, our team will validate each file and will contact you if necessary to optimize the rendering of your letterhead project.
